Being a Debian user, I always like to experiment with the latest packages, and so I have many third party debian repositories listed in the sources.list file. Whenever I am adding it for the first time, I usually get the error:

“The following signatures couldn’t be verified because the public key is not available”

On googling multiple solutions can be found to add a public key using apt-key, but most of them has 3 or 4 commands, including downloading the key, move it to a file and then import. But the one line command that does the same is as below:

apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver_url --recv-keys key_id

For a long time, I have been using ColorNotes Notepad Notes To Do on my Android phone for managing my to-do list and storing notes. It has nice features to auto backup, but feels to be heavy now a days. So, I thought of switching to something new. Have heard of Evernote and AnyDo, but both are large in size for my Optimus One with just around 25MB more ROM space to spare. Then I cam across Astrid, which is just above 4MB in size, smaller than AnyDo and around half the size of Evernote.

Adding up tasks in Astrid is so simple and it syncs pretty fast with the web, so you can manage them from both mobile and browser in PC/laptop. It lacks a firefox addon but for me, the mobile interface is of most importance. The notification system is cool and it can be customized on user choice. I really liked the feature to schedule reminders for missed calls, at the time I miss one. Also, the feature to schedule tasks at repeated intervals like daily is cool.

There are lot more features to explore, like sharing tasks with friends, the ideas feature within and much more. Using it for just two days have made me fell in love with it. It helped me to get more organized and plan things for the day. Give it a try. Check more at the website: http://astrid.com or if you are an Android user, you can get it from play store.

For the first time, watching movies from multiplex on consecutive days, that too with the peak ticket charge. Happy that both of them weren’t disappointing. Actually, I loved watching Thuppakki. This time it was Sharat, who came with the idea for a movie. He came all the way from Delhi(as he claims) to meet his friends, including us. Four of us tried to get tickets for “Theevram”, starring Dulqar Salman, but were late and there were only 3 tickets left. So, after roaming around Oberon mall for more than 2 hours, and a dinner with Pizza, decided to get in for “Thuppakki” and were forced to take the front row seats 🙁

Theatre: Q Cinemas, Gold Souk Grande, Kochi

It was just a moment’s choice to go for a film and was Shibili’s pick to go for “My Boss”. I supported, just because I love the comedy part. The film started on time and there was lot to laugh in the first half. Kalabhavan Shajon and Dileep entertains the viewers with comedy, the field they are comfortable with. Mamta’s appearance suits her character well, though you can’t find much similar people in real life. She appears as a rude boss in a IT firm @ Mumbai and the first half happens entirely at Mumbai. Being an Australian citizen, her visa is about to expire and she figures out marriage as an option to stay in India. She chooses her assistant, the character played by Dileep as her dummy husband. The story develops with this and few profession related issues. First half ends with both Dileep’s and Mamta’s characters; Manu and Priya boarding train to Alapuzha, Manu’s native place.
