Today, there was a discussion about the topics for the Free Software workshop in the #mes-fsf IRC channel at freenode.net. Shyam, Priyan, Shehin, Vibin Das, Sachin and Krishnaraj were present there. We decided to conduct the workshop on 11th December, Tuesday and planned for a meeting on 3rd December, Monday to have a final discussion about the topics. Currently, there are 13 members to present the topics and about 10 topics, out of which most are related to electronics side. Anyway, with the workshop, we hope we will have a voice to ask for a GNU lab at MES.

Today, I registered the username ‘tvmanukrishnan’ in IRC and from today onwards, I’ll be known by that name in IRC. I tried to get the name ‘tvm’, but its owned by someone else. Yesterday, I was assigned the work of documenting the Malayalam installer of Debian. Hope I could complete it soon. Also, the problem with IT@School GNU/Linux install CD got solved. It was a bug and another boot image is available to overcome the problem. Thanks for Vimal Joseph for helping me to find the solution. The solution can be found here. I was made a teacher by my mema(Mother’s sister). She came yesterday to study driving the scooter. She had called one our relative to teach her but he didn’t show up. So, the responsibility came to me. With two days, she was able to drive through the roads(without any traffic).

Also, yesterday, I joined #smc-discuss IRC channel at freenode.net. It was a new experience for me. Again thanks for Shyam for the information.
