Kerala Gramin Bank popularly known as KGB, based out of Kerala has banking application for Android phones, but there also exists a web interface, which is not widely publicized. Couldn’t find the link anywhere in the website or even with a google search.

The URL is https://mobile.canararrb.com/kgbmpaywap/kgb

It uses OTP to registered mobile number for authentication, along with a registered PIN.

It does most of the basic functions including balance check, mini statement, NEFT and IMPS based transfers. Really helpful for those who hate to use mobile applications due to various reasons.

Hope you are aware of the campaign going on, in support to save Mullaperiyar Dam and the people of Kerala.

I don’t care for the publicity stunts by putting logo of companies in the posters and banners related to the mullaperiyar issue. What I care is the real cause. Last three days witnessed great rain here in Kerala. Its due to the low pressure formed in the Bey of Bengal and is said to last for a few more days. The rain was comparatively less today. In the three days, roads were flooded and many damages were caused, mainly in the agricultural sector. As usual as in rainy days, the electricity played hide and seek with the rain. Any way, the rain might reduce the scarcity of drinking water during the summer.

Here in Kerala, Airtel has introduced recharge coupons of RS 2.00 with the caption “Randil oru Gundu”. It is somewhat like trying luck. Every coupon will carry a gift, starting from a single AirTel to AirTel call to even 1 year validity. Due to the amazement, I bought 5 coupons. In total, I got 6 days extra validity, 1 minute any Local mobile call, 2 minutes AirTel to AirTel and 1 SMS. Its not so bad for RS 10, I think.

The date for the publishing of 2^nd allotment for engineering and medical courses in the official website were scheduled today, 5PM. From 5PM onwards, I tried to know about my result. Every time I got the same page saying “The site is Withdrawn for Reallotment”. At last after 6PM, I got the page saying allotment is postponed for tomorrow. What a model for punctuality from the government…! There are many such instances. If its not ready, why can’t they say it a little bit early? I am not the only person who suffer this. More than thousands of students, wasting more than an hour of “the valuable” time and money…
