At last, I am "MOBILE"
My quest for a cheap mobile handset with GPRS and computer connectivity came to an end today. Anil, a friend of mine studying for CSE 2nd year at MESCE itself, arranged me a LG G1600 handset with data cable for RS 2000. The set has Java support too. I recharged the SIM with GPRS recharge card but, I came to know that GPRS will be active only on Monday as it will take about 24 hours to activate and Sunday is an holiday for AirTel offices. Also, my balance is only RS 10 and for connecting GPRS a minimum balance of RS 15 is needed.
There was a little problem while I tried to connect the mobile to computer. I solved most of it by downloading a software for LG mobiles from net. Still, data from mobile cannot be transferred to computer. But I am satisfied with what I have got.

Bought a new SIM card
Today morning, I bought a new AirTel SIM card. The main purpose of buying it is to use Internet via GPRS. My grandmother has offered me the money to buy a cheap handset with GPRS and computer connectivity. The cost of SIM card was RS 200 and the person at the shop offered 10 months validity. But, even in the evening, when I checked it in my grandmother’s mobile, it was showing only 5 months validity and had RS 50 talk time. When I enquired details about this to an AirTel customer care executive, he told me that, the real validity is just 5 months and now its an offer giving 10 months validity for the same price. He also said that the talk time will be reduced to RS 10 when it changes to the offer within 48 hours of activating the SIM. So, I was busy making calls worth RS 40 in the evening and night.
My number is: 09995110874
